Going the other direction the trail connects with the Cedar River Trail, which is an abandoned railroad route that has been paved. It goes into Renton, ending adjacent to the Renton Boeing Plant at the south end of Lake WA. Beyond this area is another large section of the lake where there is a swimming area and restrooms.
